Outreach to Sri Lanka

Antoinette and David are scheduled to speak at two important church leadership meetings in Colombo, Sri Lanka, October 6-7.   Recently the Sri Lankan economy completely collapsed and the nation had to declare financial ‘default.’  This has caused so much political, social and individual tension in the country.  This national crisis, however, opened unprecedented doors of opportunities for the national Christian churches of Sri Lanka to reach out to the unbelieving people of Sri Lanka (93% of the population) as they are in despair and panic.  The Evangelical Alliance of Sri Lanka will invite a small number of strategic church leaders to this two-day talk and vision-casting time with David and Antoinette.  These are our prayer requests:

1. Please pray for David and Antoinette as they are preparing for this important ministry.  David and Antoinette need to hear God’s voice and prepare their messages accordingly.
2. Pray for the church leadership that will be invited to these meetings.  Pray that they may hear the voice of God beyond what David and Antoinette will share with them.
3. Pray that the Lord will use this national crisis to bring about an unprecedented spiritual revival in Sri Lanka.  Then this spiritual revival, in turn, will bring about national restoration.  It is our prayer that these leaders at the conference will make a decision to work together with DCMi in the upcoming 4-5 years to bring a national revival to Sri Lanka.
