Dear Friends of DCMI,                                                              September 26, 2006

Fall has finally arrived in Seattle with shorter, cooler days – and rain! We hope you had a wonderful summer. In addition to some Seattle area preaching engagements, David spent his summer studying for his fall teaching ministry.

While David was busy studying, Kay went to Bolivia with a team from our home church. The team cooperated with a poverty-stricken rural church to renovate their building, hold Kid’s Clubs, and show the Jesus Film. Kay was part of a group of singers who were able to hold evangelistic concerts in parks, universities, and churches. They even got to sing on Bolivian national TV (which was not at all like American television). Through this trip, a number of people received Christ and the struggling church was encouraged by the love and fellowship of their American brothers and sisters.

David finished teaching his seminary classes for the fall quarter last week. The overwhelming response of the students to “Strategies for Church Growth” gave him tremendous encouragement.

David is currently in Kiev, Ukraine with a local missionary to hold a Pastor’s Conference Sept 25-29. Some 50 Ukrainian pastors are totally excited about this opportunity to learn God’s word. YOUR gifts to DCMI have allowed us to help train these Ukrainian pastor who have served the Lord faithfully without much theological training and education. DCMI donations paid the travel expenses, room, and board for these pastors to attend this conference. Thanks to your generosity, Christian pastors and leaders are being raised up in a land once known as a leader of communism where God and religion were thought of as the opium of the people.

Please pray for David this week as he leads this conference. Pray that God will pour out His Spirit on David and these pastors to bring revival to Ukraine. David has been struggling with a flare-up of his ulcerative colitis, so we also ask your prayers for his healing. And finally, pray for safety in travel as he returns on October 3.

Please lift up David and our family during the month of October.
October 5-11: David, Kay and Grace will travel to Lousiana for a family wedding
October 12-15: David and his dad drive to Los Angeles to visit family
October 20-22: David holds a revival at Calvary Baptist Church in the Philadelphia area
October 24-27: David and Kay attend Next Generation Evangelist Conference in Portland, Oregon
Pray particularly for David’s strength and health and that God will provide David with the time to study and the message for the Philadelphia revival meeting.

Many of you have asked about and prayed for our six-year old daughter Grace who was diagnosed with autism this spring. Grace is in first grade in a self-contained classroom and loves her teacher. She also enjoys her taekwando class. We are trying her on a very restrictive diet which has helped some children with autism. Please pray that God will use this diet to bring healing to Grace’s nervous and immune systems. Also pray for wisdom for us as we continue to work with Gracie and seek the best treatment options for her.

Also, God blessed us with a new home this summer. We moved in order to have a downstairs bedroom for David’s parents and more room for all of us. We now have a great guest room, so please come to visit!

As always, we thank God for you and love to hear from you. Please keep in touch!

Our new address is: 33707 42nd Court South, Federal Way, Washington, 98001. Our home phone is the same: 253-661-0078.
With much love and gratitude,

David and Kay
